TLPT Season 1 wraps up and Season 2 is set to go!

On February 27th with top individual on the line, Mike entered the final event leading partner David Michaelson by 2 points and On-line Poker Phenom, Bill Lawton by 4 points. As the tables merged, Bill had a 3-1 chip lead over David and roughly a 2-1 lead over Mike.... It was looking bleak for for the league founder...

And then in round 14 (at 1:07 AM) Chip Leader, Tor Gabrielson shocked the table with pocket sixes becoming trips on the flop.  Both David and Bill were all in and covered... the result, the Trip 6s cracked Bill’s pocket rockets and David’s over pair, sending both players to the rail and putting a seal on Mike’s Double Bracelet Performance in Season 1.  At the break, teams were picked for season 2, and a monster turnout of 20 players have registered for the new season. 

I just want to take a moment to thank everyone for a great first season and here’s to Season 2!  With my favorite move as the theme, the teams for season 2 have been selected. They are as follows.

2009 Brings New Challenges to TLPT

More variety, more participants, more FUN!  That’s what TLPT’s seconds season promises in 2009!

TLPT proudly announces, the first TLPT Local Stars Invitational! The Local Starts Invitational Tournament is a series of no limit Texas Hold ‘em poker tournaments that tests all levels of No Limit Hold ‘em skill from full table to heads-up!

Starting in September, 24 Competitors take part in this event, with 16 advancing to the “playoffs” and ultimately culminating with best of 3 heads-up competitions to crown the first Local Stars Champion. To learn about the entire event format here.
